Description
The main core of this farmhouse dates back in 1200s, as an ancient watchtower that marked the border between the territory of Fiorenza and Siena, a post station for travelers and pilgrims used to refresh themselves and to change horses with new energy ones.
Around this ancient tower still visible, in the following ages some additions were made, giving the farmhouse its current appearance. Currently there are two main buildings close together and a barn slightly detached, in the middle the swimming pool surrounded by solarium and the wide garden. Behind the buildings the wood, giving protection and shelter to this gem of the Chianti countryside.
The main house is divided into 7 apartments for a total of about 30 beds. Each apartment has one or two bedrooms and is equipped with its own bathroom and kitchen, as well as a private outdoor space to enjoy peace and quietness in complete tranquility. On the ground floor of this building the old "tinaia" with its vault typical ceiling made in bricks. Adjacent to the main building and slightly detached from it, another smaller building with a large covered loggia where it is possible to spend afternoons and evenings in company, covered technical spaces complete this area.
A third building, once a barn, detached from the others, has a large loggia in front and is on two levels: a large room that serves as a living area on the main level with roof inside made with trusses; two double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the other level, in the sleeping area.
Outdoor space
The farmhouse lays in about 20 hectares of land, most of it in the woods. The part of the land close to the buildings can be used as land to cultivate or to build a soccer field or tennis court for guests. Into an area sheltered by the buildings, in order to guarantee privacy, there is the rectangular shaped swimming pool which measures 12 x 6 meters, surrounded by the solarium lined with imperial quartzite that offers the advantage never becoming too hot, even on the hottest days.
The part of the land closest to the house, about 5.000 sqm, has an electrified fence for further security. The paths that surround the house allow you to go hiking and walking in the woods and in the surrounding countryside.
State and finishes
The renovation of the rooms, although not very recent, is still very current. The typical style of the countryside has been fully respected, from the original materials that have been recovered to the interior spaces subdivision. The attention to detail that can be appreciated inside the property is well visible even in outdoor spaces, no aerial cables are visible in order to give as little impact as possible to the nature.
